Principal Legislation
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
For non- ionising radiation, in the United Kingdom, the legislation
applicable is the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and regulations
made under the Act. The regulations relate to the management of health
and safety, the workplace, work equipment and associated hazards where
applicable (eg CoSHH for some laser applications). There are no statutory
limits or levels, these have to be obtained from various professional sources.
