SRP joins National Skills Academy for Nuclear
The Society has recently become an affiliate member of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear.
The National Skills Academy for Nuclear is an employer led wholly owned subsidiary of the Cogent Sector Skills Council. It was formally launched in 2008 and has been established to address the key skills, training and recruitment challenges facing the nuclear industry into the future, in all sectors including operation, fuel cycle, waste management, defence, decommissioning and, of course new nuclear build.
One interesting development is the Nuclear Skills Passport which is being developed in 2010 and will be a national database of the training and qualifications of all of the workforce, at all levels. As a part of that, there will be a set of nuclear job context roles and skills levels aligned to nuclear industry training standards and qualifications.
The Qualifications and Professional Standards Committee is the link to the NSAN.
