The UK environment agencies (the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, the Environment Agency and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency) are carrying out a joint consultation on proposals to set a common standard in the UK for the competences of a Qualified Expert who can advise employers about radioactive waste management and environmental radiation protection to meet the requirements of the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 and the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010.

This consultation will be of interest to all those who are involved in the management of radioactive waste.
