SRP Elections 2011/2012

Nominations are invited for the following offices:

1)     President-Elect – for the year 2012/13 (to become President in the following year).

2)     Honorary Treasurer – for the two year period 2012/14

3)     Two Members of Council – for the three year period 2012/15

4)     Associate Representative – for the three year period 2012/15

 Please note:

(a)           Offices 1, 2 and 3 are members of Council and nominations are restricted to Corporate Members of the Society (Honorary Fellows, Fellows and Members) and Graduate Members.   Associate, Student and International Members are not Corporate Members of the Society. 

(b)           Office 4 is an invitee of Council and nominations are restricted to Associate members of the Society.

(c)           Persons wishing to be nominated should supply a signed written notice agreeing to the nomination and should be supported in the nomination by a brief written statement from the proposer, not exceeding 150 words, describing their work and work for the Society and signed by two eligible Members (see note (a) above).  Please use the form on the website for this purpose.

(d)           The Society will re-imburse reasonable expense incurred by Council members in the course of attendance at Council meetings and meetings of the Council subcommittees and working groups.  As a guide the level of reasonable expense is that which might be claimed by a Civil Servant of Principal grade under current rules for travel and subsistence but in any event does not exceed that from the further most point in the British Isles to London.

(e)           As a result of the 1992 Charities Act, all members of Council are considered as trustees.  Any persons who are undischarged bankrupts, disqualified company directors or who have an unspent conviction for dishonesty, or who are disqualified from acting as trustees for other reasons, are therefore disqualified from seeking office.

 Please ensure that all nominations are sent to the above address to arrive by 10 January 2012.  Nominations reaching the Clerk's office after this date will not normally be accepted.
