Southport '99

Southport ’99 is the 6th International Symposium organised by the UK Society for Radiological Protection (SRP). Founded in 1963, the SRP now has over 1150 members and is the leading Scientific Society in the UK for all who are professionally concerned with health and safety aspects of uses of ionising and non-ionising radiations in education, central and local government, industry, medicine and research. The SRP is the UK Associate Society affiliated to the International Radiation Protection Association.

The SRP has the following objectives:

  • to promote and advance the science of radiological protection and allied fields;
  • to promote, advance and disseminate to the public advantage, knowledge of radiological protection and allied fields;
  • to encourage, support, promote and advance education and learning in radiological protection and allied fields;
  • to promote and encourage high scientific, educational, regulatory and professional standards in radiological protection and allied fields.
In addition to the category of Full Member, individuals may join as Graduate, Associate or Student members. Affiliate membership is also available to corporations or other associations. The SRP is a Registered Charity (No. 264337). Further details, including the current prospectus, are available from the address given at the back of this leaflet.
